ABOUT
Arthur’s is a multidisciplinary design firm specializing in conceptually-driven interiors and gardens.
Founded in 2018 by Nick Spain, the firm is named after the best friend of the founder’s grandparents, whose azalea-laden home in the heat of Houston, Texas served as a space for play, imagination and inventiveness during Spain’s childhood.
Play, imagination and inventiveness are core tenets of the firm today. Viewing each project as an exercise in storytelling, it employs unusual combinations of color, form, texture and time periods to create singular environments that exude character and possess a sentimentality that’s lacking in preciousness.
The firm’s projects have been published internationally and featured in publications including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Vogue, Wallpaper* and more.

Nick Spain is a designer and writer working across interiors, gardens, and, on occasion, furniture and styling. Drawing on his formal training in theater, Nick approaches each new project as a role to be played. He strives to strip away preconceived notions from the design process entirely in order to create designs that are emotive, honest and a little unexpected.
